I was in my 3rd std.
It was on one Friday ,While I was returning from the temple.
It was around 06:30 when I entered the cemented road which lead me to the aghraharam left to me was a row of houses and to my right was big playground. A deep ditch separated the road from the playground. The road was calm expect for the voices of ladies sitting at their house entrance and chit chatting….I need to go to the end of the road and take a right turn and walk further 50 mts to reach my home.
In the mid of the road there was a stray dog standing facing the playground…i just stopped on seeing the dog there.
I was bit scared on seeing the calm & quiet dog. The ladies around said “it won’t harm u & just to move ahead”…Unfortunately i remembered what happened in the 7th period of the school. I was denied to participate in the High Jump Compettition.Citing only 5th std boys can participate. I was made to sit down & just watch it.
On seeing the Stray dog I decided to jump & cross the dog and move ahead to my home…went few steps back and started running towards the dog while i was about to cross it the dog moved few steps in my opp direction and started running towards me as i didn’t halt .Once the dog started chasing I got frightened & an my adrenalin glands also pumped faster …i got panic and started running to wards my house taking a right turn.
Far at the door steps of my house I saw my mother putting Kolam on the Entrance with my younger brother keerthi assisting her on.
I was running madly to reach them as the dog was behind me. While few mts for my house the dogs paws touched my legs and I shouted Ammaaaaaaaa & fell down.Keerthi on seeing this took stones and started throwing at the dog; while my mother rushed for my help….the dog ran away then.
My mother carefully checked & said nothing to worry no bites & only wounds & advised never to run on seeing a dog…
But my fear For stray Dog Still Stays
